You’ve just gotten engaged and everyone wants to know when the big day is.

Choosing a wedding date can be quite a challenge.  You have to choose a date which works for you and your guests.  You need to choose a wedding date that is in the season of your preference.

There are different considerations to keep in mind when picking the perfect date:

1. Find out when the major holidays fall.  If you are having a religious ceremony, you’ll want to avoid picking any dates around spiritual holidays.  Some holidays may be beneficial; a three-day weekend can help with out of town guests.
2. Check with your local church to see what dates are available and if they have any requirements.  Some churches require the date be set at least one year in advance or less than three years before etc.
3. Avoid certain times of the year if flowers are high in demand and you are interested in floral center pieces.
4. The budget is always a big factor.  Consider a Thursday when the following day is a holiday.  Sunday is also the best “budget-friendly”day.  If you are worried guests will leave early schedule your wedding to end by 10 p.m.
5. Pick a venue where you can also have your ceremony.  Outdoor ceremonies are nice, but what happens if there is bad weather.  If the indoor area is just as nice as the outdoor location go with the secure choice.
